In respect of climate change affects causing less rainfall in the coast belt, DUS has promoted produciton of groundnut in the coastal islands of Hatia with soft loan support amounting to 5 millions taka. Each farmer has provided with Tk.10000 to Tk. 20000 under seasonal loan support for six months only with 5% interest rate. The production is quite worthy and the farmers are quite happy with sound market value.
